The
potential for phytotoxicity and injury to the crop for a new pest
control or fertility product is of such importance that registration
requirements include many tests specifically aimed at establishing
this product characteristic. Usage rates are increased at several
times field levels and common tank mix partners are used to simulate
potential situations where plant injury may occur. In addition, various
growing regions where plant cutical development differs, or extreme
environmental conditions where plant stress may predispose tissues
to phytotoxicity are emphasized in tests of product safety. Pacific
Ag has conducted many of these studies over the years and can recognize
even subtile effects of products on plant development and physiology.
Our staff are recognized as world experts in recognizing and quantifying
both morphological and physiological injury of pesticides to plants.
